Hi, my name is Ra and I'm a reader.
Since I was a child, I have loved reading! I would frequent the neighborhood library and spend hours scouring books like Amelia Bedelia, Miss Nelson is Missing, The Babysitter's Club, Choose Your Own Adventure and more. As an adult, I've enjoyed multitudes of books by Terry Brooks, Stephanie Meyer, May Sage, E. Bowser, M. R. Mathias, Meg Xuemei X, Michael Anderle and many other wonderful authors.
Over the years, after becoming a wife and mother of two children, I have found less time to sit and read books. Nowadays, between my family and my business, there isn't much downtime.
Years ago, I invested in a Kindle and it has been a godsend. This convenient little e-reader not only gives me access to tons of books, it also reads the books to me so my hands are free to cook, drive, shop or complete whatever tasks and errands need completing. I love it and recommend e-readers or audiobooks to anyone who can't seem to find the time to finish a book.
I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited and can borrow books "free" anytime I want. After I've read a book, I simply return it and borrow another one. You can borrow up to 10 books at a time. Though not all titles are included in Kindle Unlimited, there are a GREAT number that are. Some authors list their first couple of books to lure you in, and if their books are really good, it's no issue to purchase their other titles.
GoodReads has a nifty reading goal tracker that syncs with my Kindle device. It tracks my read books allowing me to see my progress towards a yearly reading goal that I set. I don't remember when I joined GoodReads (it's been about ten years, give or take), but to date, I have e-read over 722 books!
Many of the books I read fall into the fantasy and paranormal genres with a little romance thrown in. There is so much creativity in the world. I love seeing what the mind can come up with in the form of new worlds, concepts and experiences.
I also enjoy biographies, business and financial advice, natural health, healthy eating and parenting books.
With all the books available, I am hoping to reach my lifetime goal of 3,000 books read!
If you find yourself too busy to read but would love to try some audiobooks, see the links below for some recommendations that may be just what you're looking for.
Happy Reading!!
